Dear Beertastic,

Back in the day I worked with Andy Farley at WNUR, and I went by the name DJ DLong. I've been reading your blog for a while so I figured you'd be able to help me out.

I now live in Egypt, which if you've ever been is a lovely place but completely lacking in beer. I was considering doing a homebrew out of my apartment. I've never done it before, I know no chemistry, and have zero equipment. My questions are: 1) is there a simple, easy-to-make but really good homebrew recipe that you know of and could recommend, and 2) what do I need equipment-wise to make it? Also take into account that I'm here for 9 months. I dont know how that would factor in.

Thanks for any advice you can give, and keep up the great work on the blog. You guys take care.

Peace,

David
