We are in my basement with a special guest to review with… Jason Frank!!! Its a wed and we were all bored. Brian decided to get this beer based on its high alcohol level. Just chillin and drinkin on hump day.
Appearance: DARK! You cannot see through this beer at all. It looks black with a mocha cappuccino head. Thick head at first but doesn’t last but laces the entire time.
Aroma: Very malty chocolate scent that has other hints of caramel? We’re thinking that the caramel might be over thrown by the malt scent. Adam “I think I’m drunk just smelling it”.
Jason’s fucked up and only smells soy sauce… what the hell Jason?
Taste: Adam: Its like drinking cappuccino off a tasty piece of wood!. Jason: The 12% is very obvious in the after taste, but its smooth going down, its woody with some smokey nut flavor. Bitterness is all from the alcohol, not from the flavor. The malty flavor develops from what Brian thinks is a chocolate to a cappuccino to a vanilla. We’re not thinking its overly any of those flavors but rather just notes of it (Its not like someone spiked your beer with a mocha cappuccino Popsicle) it develops very nicely as a beer. As the beer’s getting warmer the flavors are (Adam wants you to make a desk out of the Palo Santo wood, so he can pour his beer on your desk and slurp off the deliciousness…) Mother gave us Raspberry brie roll up’s to eat, the sweetness of the raspberry set off the sweetness in the beer VERY well.
Alcohol %: 12
Drink One or All Six?: Its pretty strong, so 1 maybe 2? depends on how messed up your shooting for.
Cost: $5 for 1 (12oz. serving) at Binny’s
Overall: Adam: 17/20 Jason: 17/20 Brian: 17/20. Very good sipping beer. If you have the cash give it a go because its the same price as a Goose Burboun. Solid choice, give it a try some time.

Andy yelled this on Feb 12 09 at 10:06 amSounds awesome! But seeing as ats the same price-point as GI BCS I don’t think I’ll be able to commit to this soon; maybe out at Hopleaf :P
Brian yelled this on Feb 12 09 at 12:44 pmi see your problem with the same price but it was sold in indivual bottles for just under $5 each. so yea same price but sold as a single serving instead of having to commit to the whole 4pack for $20. just nice to have options
Taylor yelled this on Feb 08 10 at 12:52 pmNice review dudes. I love the hell out of this beer. It’s definitely a sipper. I the palo tank gives it that nutty caramel, and I think it tastes a lot like tawny port wine.
Try drinking this beer with a good cigar, it is out of this world.
Cheers.
