So yes, its been a little delay here at Beertastic. We are all poor students…at least most of us…hopefully…for only a little longer. Anyway, this brand has been recommended to me many many many times. I tried their seasonal Black Chocolate Stout a while back and thought it was ’bout time to check out one of their supposed strongest.

Brewery Hometown: Brooklyn, NY
Appearance: Hazy gold, strong off white head with fairly thick lacing.
Aroma: Fruity sweet malts with overlays of yeast. Lager-tastic!
Taste: Simple and very clean. Has a somewhat tangy, malty initial bite but that is smoothed as it warms a bit. Refreshing but still maintains a striking hoppy character. Aftertaste for me was somewhat bitter and metallic (to a limited extent, not degrading the overall profile). Later tastes (warmer) give hints of a darker, more complex (dare I say hints of IPA even?) tastes, with chords of honey/molasses. Scrumptious.
Alcohol: 5.4%
Drink one or all?: 2/3
Cost: $9/6 pack
Overall: 16/20. Great low-key beer for low-key evenings. Try it.
