Finally back at school and its time to start treating myself to some nice beers and get a break from beer that tastes like piss. its also that time of the year that they start introducing their fall seasonal beers! i don’t know if its because i have an October
birthday or i just love the flavors but fall seasonal brews are probably my favorite.
Brewery Hometown: Portland,Maine
Appearance:Orange and golden… it pumpkin… what else would you expect? of course i am a bit relieved that it is orange. The head lasted a total of 30 seconds.
Aroma: It smells like cinnamon apple sauce… with strong notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. the pumpkin is subtle but i’m gettin a healthy fragrance.
Taste: Far more crisp and smooth than i expected. the cinnamon and nutmeg i smelled is apparent in the taste blending with the pumpkin. tastes pretty close to a pumpkin pie. as the beer does down it gets a little bit of an apple flavor that i’m really pretty ok with.
Alcohol: 4.5 %
Drink one or all?:Only reason i didn’t drink all six is because i needed one to review while i was sober… so for me all six!
Cost: $8.00/6 pack
Overall: 17/20 a very nice brew for desert or along with a fall type meal. Not a world class beer but definitely worth trying if you like pumpkin pie. i’m also very excited that this is the first fall season for beertastic!!
