Shock Top Belgian White

So a bunch of friends of mine decide to go to this awesome BYOB thai place. Only one problem, I have no B. Conveniently, there is also this (also) awesome liquor store across the street, with plenty of micros…on the shelf…warm. So I go to the fridge and take a look around. Had that, hated that, blah that…IS THAT AN ORANGE WITH A MOHAWK. Why yes, it is. Unfortunately I did not catch the small Anheuser-Busch Inc in the top right…

Brewery Hometown: St. Louis

Appearance: Very pale yellow. Bottle instructs you to make sure to top off the glass with a lot of foam for real ultimate flavor. I did so and must admit it looked rather appealing.

Aroma: Pretty (fake) orange. On first smell I felt like it reminded me (was a ripoff) of something else I’ve had (Blue Moon or 312? Cannot put my finger on it but seems familiar). Smell gets more skunky as you drink. Fun. Not.

Taste: Not…good. Not bad…but not good. The fake orange taste leaves your mouth dry and unsatisfied. The bottle notes that its brewed with spices including lime/lemon peels and coriander, but I found nothing that strong or appealing. For such a wonderful sounding combo, I was hoping for a hell of a lot more taste. I ended up feeling very apathetic about the entire experience.

Alcohol %: 5.2%

Drink One or All Six?: See the A-B label and move along please.

Cost: $7 / 6 pack

Overall: 10 / 20 Not bad. Not good.
