In retrospect of Sea Dog, I have learned to be much more careful of fruit beers. Thankfully, this cherry ale – the last from my ISU grab – was on the better side of the divide.

Brewery Hometown: Boston
Appearance: A bubbly mixture with a light red (is it my eyes?) hue to it. Nothing groundbreaking.
Aroma: Pleasurably sweet. It smells like an excellent mix of hops and rich cherry. The fruit (which smells like actually cherries, not fruit syrup shit) intermingles nicely.
Taste: Pow! The dry ale taste was the first thing I noticed, it made the beer feel kind of empty at first, almost just like carbonated soda. That sensation faded however and I did get a very crisp, edgy cherry taste. I was taken back by this at first (knee-jerk reaction), but a sip or two more and I found it fairly pleasing. Leaves a nice fruity taste in your mouth between sips, however I did find that the dry ale taste did come back to haunt me every once in a while. The smell of the beer gives each sip character so definitely drink it in a glass.
Alcohol %: 5.2%
Drink One or All Six?: One. If you’re a cherry nut you’ll dig this, otherwise you can probably have it once and shrug your shoulders like I did.
Cost: $7? / 6 pack
Overall: 14 / 20 Decent, not great.

KFAZ yelled this on Mar 29 08 at 12:01 pmYeah I’m a Sam Adams fan. Had this at Buffalo Wild Wings the other night and it was very sweet with the cherry taste. If you don’t want a strong taste of that stay away. And doesnt really taste much like a beer. It’s good but probably best for when u don’t know if you want a beer or not but want to drink something sweet but with alcohol thats not girly.
