Sam Adams Irish Red
(15/20)
Brian on Mar 28.08

Bought this one in the spirit of St.Patty’s day. Wasn’t the typical Guinness i know and it took me a while to post this but i figured i would try something other than the usual St.Patty’s drink.

Brewery Hometown: Boston

Appearance: Dark and red. at first glance it could look like almost a blood color. definitely a red beer. the head matches with a foamy red tint of what it really is.

Aroma: sweet and to me smells like honey graham crackers?

Taste:Sweet and smooth. that “red” flavor is there with a very mild bitter after taste. the honey graham cracker wasn’t a practical joke on the nose, its there. and its a good flavor at that.

Alcohol: 5.5%

Drink one or six?: Drink them all. why not?

Cost: $7ish for a sixer

Overall: 15/20 solid beer but despite the solid flavors put out they weren’t bold enough for me to completely love. who knows it might be a favorite for some of you and definitely worth a try. also a good alternative to the typical Guinness for st.patty’s day, and higher alcohol content!
