Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout
(20/20)

So in the spirit of this…I’ll admit it, I love Beer. Not just any beer, but good full flavored beer. Unless we’re unloading a 30 pack of busch light in a massive 3 game series of 21 that will all be over in about 30 mins, but thats a whole different story. So once I was told Andy wanted to write about beer, how could I resist and here I am. I know nothing about how to review a beer other then I love it, I’ve tried a lot of it, and I know enough to know what tastes good and what tastes like piss.

Appearance: So ever see motor oil being dumped from a beer bottle because that is what thisBourbon County looks like, straight from my motorcycle but don’t let that deceive you. It’s just dark, midnight dark. Very little carbonation. Not a lot of foam, just a small trim of golden brown on top, could use some more but if i let it sit around for a few months and let it age and I sure that there would be some there but I can’t wait that long.

Aroma: First whiff of this and you smell bourbon hence the name. Hint of vanilla, some dark chocolate, some toffee coffee, and some roasted malts all cooked over a smoke wood. It smells good, too good.

Taste: Again the bourbn takes over, but as a friend of whiskey, it taste good. Then the other flavors take over. It’s a bit creamy, but it fits the flavor and goes down smooth. Leaves a chocolate coffee with a hint of brandy in your mouth. Taste like one of the best if not the best full bodied beer you ever have.

13% alcohol by volume

Cost: 20$/ 4 pack

Overall: Its a sipping beer. One of the best you’ll have. Kinda sweet but just enough to hide the alcohol. Kinda expensive but its 13% so for what you get its worth it. I’ll take one per hour and drink it all night long. Just let it sit and warm up from sitting in the fridge for a bit and its perfect.

Overall: 20/20

Never compare beer to motor oil again. It turns me on too much.

this was a delicious beer! It started off a little on the cold side but once it warmed up a bit it was even better. I loved it but at $5 a bottle i dont see myself getting it too often

i believe they claim one bottle of this has more flavor than a case of regular beer. dear lord were they right. the bourbon was a lot stronger than i thought it would be and i wasn’t sure i was a fan in the beginning but it grew on me pretty fast. and the price thing i think would be best looked at in terms of alcohol percentage. for five bucks you really get what its worth and then some.
